All profit from sales of Strawberry and oat bar in the UK will be donated to The Felix Project, a London based UK charity fighting food waste and food poverty.

Right now, millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger. Yet tonnes of fresh food is thrown away every day. More than 8 million people in the UK struggle to afford to eat and 70,000 London children go to school hungry each day. When food is wasted, all the energy and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, and package it is wasted too. Each year the UK food industry throws away 100,000 tonnes of edible food, which could have been eaten by people in need. Reducing food waste is a critical part of the fight against climate change. That’s why Vivalicious is supporting our charity partner The Felix Project to deliver good food to good causes.

The Felix Project rescues good food that cannot be sold and delivers it to charities that cook hot meals and prepare food parcels for vulnerable people. Collecting from 165 suppliers, including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants and delis, each week they deliver 40 tonnes of food to 250 front line charities and 60 primary schools in deprived areas of London. That is enough rescued food to make almost five million meals.
